Remote collaboration
Hire a remote full-stack developer from Sri Lanka
I'm a full-stack and AI developer in Sri Lanka, building web applications, SaaS products and mobile apps for businesses abroad — including production work for Australian enterprise and government clients at XGENLABS. This page explains how working together remotely actually works: time zones, communication, milestones and ownership.
Time zones at a glance

In practice this means calls in the UK morning, the Australian afternoon, or the early morning in North America — agreed per project. Bookings on this site are always shown in your own time zone.
How remote projects run
Agreed meeting windows
At the start of a project we agree when calls happen, based on where you are. Scheduled calls are booked in your time zone so nobody has to convert times.
Written, asynchronous updates
Progress, questions and decisions are shared in writing, so work continues while you are offline and you wake up to an update instead of a blocker.
Milestones you can review
Each milestone ends with a staging link you can click through. Feedback is collected in one place and confirmed before the next milestone starts.
Scope and cost in writing
Anything that changes scope or cost is written down and agreed before I act on it.
Your accounts, your code
Repositories, hosting and third-party services are set up under your ownership, so the work stays with you whatever happens next.
Plain English
Technical trade-offs are explained in business terms — what it costs, what it risks and what it unlocks — so you can make the call.
Questions from international clients
Do you have an office or a legal entity in Australia, the UK, the US or Canada?
No. I am based in Sri Lanka and work with clients abroad remotely. Contracts, invoicing and payment terms are agreed in writing at the start of each project.
Will the time difference slow my project down?
It changes how work is coordinated rather than how fast it moves. With agreed call windows and written updates, questions are answered in each other's working day, and a difference of several hours can mean work progresses while you are offline.
How do we communicate?
Video calls for kick-off, milestone reviews and anything that needs discussion; written messages or email for day-to-day updates. I am happy to use the tools your team already works in.
Which currency do you quote in?
Quotes are written per milestone, and the currency and payment method are agreed in the proposal before work starts.
Can I see your work before we talk?
Yes. The case studies on this site describe the problem, architecture and decisions behind each project, and most have live demos you can try.
Wherever you are, start with a short message.
Tell me what you are building and where you are based. I will reply with questions or next steps, and suggest call times that suit your time zone.
